It was time for morning roll call. Everyone was out except Gregor.
Faust went to the door. “There is a penalty for tardiness.” She told him softly.
“I can’t do it today, I’m calling in sick, I’m sorry.” Gregor’s voice came through the door, accompanied by very chittery sounds.
“Faust does not think it is that bad--“ She opened the door, and her eyes went wide. Slowly, she closed the door, much to the concern of all the sinners. “Gregor will be absent today. Let’s proceed as normal.”

Levi had an equilibrium, though shaky it was reliable—it had kept him balanced throughout all his military career thus far. But then the war changes, the goals shift and what Levi knew to be true is pushed into the realm of the unknown, yet somehow, amongst that, there is a cadet who supplies some form of normalcy, the sort which Levi has not had in a very long time.
