Summary
Nobody really expects to be catapulted across space (or maybe time?) by a strange rat-like being running around in your insides, and for good reason. Still, sometimes, things happen, and you have to learn fast to survive.
In this case, Five Pebbles will have to learn the power of industry, or he will die of dehydration while he is torn to the ground by rapidly-evolving monster bugs that simply won't go extinct. Oh, and they're attracted to him by his insane steam emissions, massive size, and the large amount of free flesh to eat that keeps trying to encroach on their territory, so they aren't going away any time soon.
And, of course, this is going to take a while, so Pebbles has settled in for the long haul, and prepared himself for whatever surprises may be coming his way.
He isn't ready, but how is he supposed to know that?
Anyways, yes, I plan for this to take place over a large amount of time eventually, although the first arc or so is planned to be rather bunched up, timeline-wise. Any other arcs are probably gonna be when something 'special' happens, which will shake things up a lot :3

No I didn't steal the idea, I am aware of at least one other fic like this, but I've never read it.
Thomas... is rather normal. Not, like, stereotypical or anything (he thinks), but he lives a rather normal life. And now, he has a chance to do it again! Not live a cool, main-character-of-an-anime-style life, but at least shake it up a bit. And, of course, he pushes it a bit too far. What has more potential for spice than Pokemon, he thinks. There, I can be normal, but with cool animals! Wouldn't that be nice?
Thomas is not very smart.

Summary
Dr. Kel thought he would like working alone, not having to answer to anyone or have anyone looking over his shoulder. After a week of total isolation in the Dunkeltaler Array, crushing loneliness and paranoia starts to take hold.
Which is only amplified further when he learns that he's not alone.
He's not sure if it's due to his rapidly declining mental state or his desperate need for social interaction, but when faced with something inhuman and dangerous, rather than run away, he tries to reach out to it.
