Summary
Mike? Dustin pressed the radio to his ear, as if that could magically make him understand. What could Mike and Will possibly need a private channel for? He’d been about to cut in to ask, and to announce his presence, but Will spoke again before he could.
“How do you know mine looks awesome?” he countered, his voice sharp against Dustin’s ear. “You haven’t seen me yet. Over.”
“You always look awesome,” Mike had said without missing a beat, and vaguely, Dustin started wondering if maybe he shouldn’t be listening to this.Dustin accidentally switches onto a private radio channel, and hears some things he probably shouldn't have.

Summary
Again, Mike tries to remember the details of previous games, and again he comes up with nothing. He chews on the inside of his cheek, staring at Will’s lips, and contemplates the concept: Will, kissing someone. Will, kissing multiple someones, maybe, and not telling anyone about it, not telling Mike about it. The idea makes something unpleasant turn over in his stomach. “Are you sure?” he asks before he can stop himself, and only realizes how sharp it came out him when everyone turns to him with narrowed eyes.
Will laughs, a little bemusedly. “Um, yeah? I think I’d remember.”
During the Byers’ Halloween Party, Mike has some realizations.

Summary
She tried to think about anything else.
The colours on the street as it whizzed past, people walking by in groups and chatting. God, she missed her friends so much. Missed Max. She counted how many times the car had rattled from a divot in the road, Mrs Byers cursing under her breath. How much hotter it was in California at this time of year, even though she hadn't been there for very long at all yet. The fact that she was in a real school now, even though it had only been about 3 weeks since she started. Her first letters from Mike filtering in, how she was due another on Monday.
El tried to focus on anything else. Anything but the boy sat to her left and the painfully awkward silence enveloping them.
OR :
Will and El are taken to the mall by Joyce to buy whatever they want while she waits and eats in the food hall. They navigate it together. (and maybe become friends along the way, too)

Mike breaks down again, sobs choking his words. “I’m talking about Will!”
