Eddie nods.
Steve’s mouth hangs agape. Eddie can see a little of his tongue like that, pink and wet, and he looks away quickly.
“What? No. No fuckin’ way.”

Summary
It’s been a while since he had a nightmare like that. The kind that leave you panting and shaky, filled with a terror you can’t explain. Mike used to think he was lucky not to remember them - just the sour aftertaste. The sensation of falling, the burn of humiliation, the feeling that he’s lost something. Usually forgotten by the time breakfast rolls along.
But sometimes the not-knowing is worse. Like now, when there’s this heavy guilt throbbing behind his sternum and no way of diagnosing it. He rubs his chest, trying to coax it out but it only seems to burrow further into his viscera, like a parasite.
Mike finally braves a glance at his clock.
6:01, November 6, 1985.
Oh. Right.

“So.” Mike said, raising an eyebrow at the smirking boy in front of him.
“Didn’t Karen tell you to give me a tour? Of course, I’d much rather get one from here, I mean, maybe when she shows me her bedroom we could—”
“First of all,” Mike interrupted, lifting a finger up and poking it at Richie’s chest, “do not call my mom Karen for gods sake, second of all, you already know your way around, Richie. You’ve been here before. Third of all, ew, Richie, she’s your aunt.” Mike finished, sighing and walking over to the fruit bowl on the counter and grabbing an apple out of it.
“Ew, you actually eat that shit?” Richie asked, scrunching up his nose, as if the thought of eating fruit was gross. Mike looked at him incredulously.
Richie was unaffected by this, and addressed Mike’s previous statement, “Well, sure, I’ve been here before, but that was a while ago. I don’t remember much. For all I know, you could’ve moved everything around since last time.” Richie shrugged, completely ignoring Mike’s third statement.
Richie is visiting, and Mike is not liking the interest he's showing in his best(?) friend.

Summary
The Party is struggling to move on after Starcourt. As they're being tested through the day-to-day trials of normal life, a new threat surfaces from the Upside Down. At the same time, Eleven and Mike find themselves forced to deal with a past El thought she'd left behind as the secrets set Eleven on a collision course with the beginning of the end...
Thankfully, El isn't alone.
OR: I like Stranger Things 4, but I think some things could be improved if the scale was relegated back to Hawkins for anyone that wasn't the adults. Also, Mike should've been involved in the Nina storyline (possible spoilers for this fic).

Summary
The beginning of senior year brings more changes with it than Eliza could have ever expected. Outside the move of the Byers family to California, the deaths during the mall fire haunting the town and lingering trauma, high school still continues to be just as challenging and nothing is as it was before. Somehow developing a genuine friendship with Robin while ignoring her feelings, trying to keep the Party from falling apart and figuring out the perfect college to go to are just the tip of the iceberg.
Or an interlude between S3 and S4 in which Eliza and Steve need to deal with the impending future and what that means for their friendship while trying to get over their crushes (with varying success).

With that, Mike comes to the swift realization that he wants nothing more than to be with— to be there with Will, even if he’s a couple of states away from him. I mean, he can’t just let Will go through that alone. It would be torture. Honestly, for both him and for Will.
This revelation is what makes Mike decide he’s going to comfort Will, whether it be through a shitty house phone, or a letter with several crossed out words and sentences.
Which is why Mike finds himself going to dial The Byers Household on his house phone, in his basement, at an ungodly hour.
or: november 6th, the anniversary of when will went missing, is rapidly upcoming and approaching. mike can’t seem to sleep with the thought of being unable to comfort will during these times.

After the very memorable Fourth of July of 1985, Robin Buckley tries her best to comfort her sort of not clearly said but very much girlfriend Chrissy Cunningham whose mourning people she never really knew, while Robin deals with her own guilt and grief for those around her while keeping it most to herself. Meanwhile, Eddie Munson is learning what it means to have a boyfriend, Steve is also along for that lesson, though they to find it uncomfortable being in the honeymoon phase while Hawkins spread a gloom around them, and their not sure how long that's gonna last.

Tommy Slater slaughtered twelve kids, including her sister Cindy. Max is left scarred—physically and emotionally. She feels abandoned by her family, especially after the suicide of her father, who left behind a note that made it clear she never mattered to him. Now, living with her alcoholic, distant mother, Susan, Max feels more alone than ever, even if her friends still try to help her despite her pushing them away. Max wrestles with the painful memories of her past, the curse of Shadyside that has haunted her, and the overwhelming sense that no matter how hard she tries to escape, the darkness always finds her. She feels trapped by her past, unable to outrun the shadow that looms over her life.
Or: Max is Ziggy, and after Billy dies, she goes to camp where the events of Fear Street Part 2 happen. This will be a rewrite of season four if max went to camp nightwing i promise there will be an eventual happy ending

She wouldn’t have seen any of that if it hadn’t been for Lucas. She would’ve been safe, undeniably, if he hadn’t told her.

“Where is he?” The General asked, and Steve almost laughed in his face again.
“Ohhhh he’s long gone, you big asshole!” He smiled, and he could tell that the General didn’t like that. Good. “He’s probably calling Hopper and Hopper is calling the U.S. Cavalry, they’re going to come in here commando style, guns a-blazing and kick your sorry asses back to Russia, and you’re gonna be two pieces of toast.”
They laughed, because they knew it. Because there was no other possible future where the Russians won. He imagined the General, blood pooling around his body. Dead. The General would die, and Steve took comfort in that.
The General nodded at Steve, a smug smile spreading on his face, then turned to the Doctor and spoke some Russian. They talked there for a moment, then they both walked out without another word.
“That’s bad right?” Steve asked once they were alone again.
“Uh, yeah. Yeah, that’s pretty bad.”
They leaned their heads on each others’ shoulders, and they stayed silent for a very long time. He focused on nothing but the connection, and hoped everything would sort itself out. He hoped Henderson was on his way.
