Summary
Chuuya Nakahara didn't smile half as much as a fifteen year old boy should— that was one of the first things about him Dazai had taken notice. Of course, one might call him a biased judge, considering the burden of depression that insisted on weighting down on his shoulders at such an early age, but that didn't mean Dazai was uncapable of smiling; quite the opposite, indeed, as the boy found it to be easier to pretend than to admit there was little to nothing in the act of living that made his lips twitch in real amusement.
Chuuya didn't fake, though. As a matter of fact, everything about the boy was disturbingly raw and honest.
OR: 5 times Dazai made Chuuya laugh + 1 time Chuuya made Dazai smile instead.

Summary
As Kenma saw it, the Hunger Games were simply just another part of the deeply-flawed society they were living in. Just another face of the blood sucking system the capitol forced upon the districts, and perhaps the more honest one.
People should be used to the Games by now, so why the dramatics every year when a tribute was picked?
Their exaggerated reactions never made sense to Kenma, and if anyone thought he would’ve changed his mind upon hearing his own name being called from the stage, those people were severely mistaken.

Arisu saw himself adrift and at complete loss of what to do next - it was as if he was drowning in open sea, with no land in sight, and each one of his friends pointed in a different way. He didn't know who to follow, but if he didn't pick a side, he would drown.
He hoped he picked the right side. He couldn't pick any side.
The brunette wasn't sure if he lacked the courage or the confidence to pick what sounded best and promised a slightly better life... or maybe he lacked a better option to choose, a more promising path to follow.
All he knows is that the answers he needed to deal with that crisis somehow came along with a certain blond (and sleep deprived) medical student.

“That’s good,” his mother sighed, brushing aside his hair and kissing him on the forehead. She then leaned in close to whisper to him, “Everything’s okay now. Daddy made me leave for longer than usual this time, but I promise I’m not letting him separate us anymore.”
Kenma grew up quietly, with conditions attached to his love and worth, and quickly had to adapt to life with a pathological narcissist for a mother.
