When a person makes contact with their soulmate for the first time, they get temporarily transported to a future moment with their soulmate’s future self.
Kokichi has been obsessed with the possibility that his long-term friend Shuichi is his soulmate. With the gloves in the way, he was never able to test out that theory until an opportunity presents itself after some harmless bullying whilst studying.
Shuichi has watched with interest at the rise of DICE since entering college and willingly allowed himself to be the plaything of its leader Kokichi. While he wouldn't call it an attraction aloud, perhaps it wasn't too far from the truth either. Whether they were soulmates was another matter entirely. So, when Kokichi makes a jab at his gloves, he decides to take the risk...
