Summary
Al-Haitham is lonely. Everyday he wakes up, attends his classes, goes back to his tiny dorm room, studies ─ then it’s suddenly nighttime, and this routine repeats itself again, again, day after day.
He would say it brings him comfort, if you asked him.
That is what he wants to believe, at least, until he finds himself, yet again alone, among humans: he realizes that people have people.
People have people to laugh with, to dream with, to love. Why wouldn’t he have such thing, too? Is he a mistake? Inhumane? What exactly makes him human, if he lacks of the very one thing that makes humans ─ humans?
Will he change his mind once he’s found what his heart had been longing for?

Summary
Kaveh meets Al-Haitham again in Lambad’s Tavern—homeless, moraless, jobless with a dendro vision cinched to his waist to prove it.
For lack of better words, Al-Haitham is shorter than he remembers.
“Archons,” he breathes, looking him up and down. “What happened to you?”
“I should be asking you that question,” Al-Haitham says, dry.
“No. No, you really shouldn’t,” Kaveh says, shaking his head.
Al-Haitham snorts.
Al-Haitham gives Kaveh an ultimatum he is desperate to change.

Summary
"But he..." said the man, voice suddenly small.
"Has your mother. You know how she dotes, dear," soothed the woman, voice fond and patient, a little overbearing and a little sad.
The shuffle of Kaveh's footsteps must've alerted them to his presence finally, as the two scholars simultaneously turned where they stood and looked directly at Kaveh as he slowly approached. Their eyes were wide.
In front of him stood two young scholars, wearing the characteristic robes of Akademiya alumni, the design dated but the condition pristine, both with the traditional golden laurels in their hair. The woman's soft grey hair was pulled into a simple, but tight bun, with just her bangs hanging loose, allowing for a soft sheen of teal to reflect in the loose strands. And the man... Alhaitham? No, that couldn't be. But then... impossible as it was, this man was-
"Faranak!?"
Huh...?
"Huh?"

Summary
“Coming!” Al-Haitham calls, navigating the maze of packing peanuts and crates. He undoes the latch on the door and lets it swing open, fully expecting to see the bearded face of his landlord only to be met with the vermillion-eyed face of somebody he had given up hope on seeing for the rest of his life.
There’s a long moment of silence. The aching swell of Vivaldi in the background and the rushing in his ears like the ocean waves.
“...Kaveh?”
Kaveh, globally-renowned musician, disappears off the face of Teyvat. Five years later, he shows up outside of Al-Haitham's door with no explanation but to ask for a bed to sleep in.
It's fine. They only have thirteen years of history, after all.

Summary
After incident ‘x,’ Kaveh throws out the mirrors in his room. Strangers call him a mad architect, fascinated by the claims of his bout of violence. Friends talk to Alhaitham in soothing tones, dripping in sympathy, wondering how their fight had gotten so far. Alhaitham has to be one to wrap the mirrors for proper disposal, his reflection smudged and distorted like a monstrosity gazing back at him.
“Can we fix him?” Collei asked Cyno.
“Maybe someone at Akademiya can.”
“Poor machine.” She gazed down at the broken parts like she would a deer with a broken leg in the forest.
