Keito has spent a very long time fabricating lies, writing scripts for actors who were just supposed to be kids and still played them perfectly on a bloody stage. He could stay there all night and whisper sweet nothings in Eichi’s ears and tell himself that’s for the best, that’s what he’s supposed to do. Unless it’s not.

Summary
Odasaku is a writer. And in this world "writers" are the only ones capable of giving the "spark of life" to puppets, humans that can be artificially created for whoever can afford to buy one. Ango, who keeps the registers for puppets, brings him Dazai: he's been designed and used as a bodyguard - much more similar to a real soldier - and now that his previous owner is dead, they need to "overwrite" him so that he can be sold again. Yet, no writer has succeeded, and Dazai can't show or feel human emotions. Odasaku has to find a way to teach Dazai how to be a person, so they start living together, hoping this will help more than any writer's skill.

The point is when your (belated?) hormonal awakening at seventeen is owed to someone from another continent. It would be hard even without being dirt poor, but Rody still has to either rebalance his karma or make his fate laugh, so he also has the subtle problem of studying outside of his job at the club and counting his change to make ends meet at the end of each month. Not exactly the best situation for flying back and forth once a month.
