“Alright, something funny to say? This silence isn’t like you.” Sypha raised an eyebrow and removed the cloth from his eyes, swiping it down his cheek and under his chin.
Trevors eyes were calm as he tilted his chin up and let Sypha trail the cloth down his neck. “I can’t just sit here with you?” His tone was so genuine, his voice so low that Sypha sat there in shock for a moment before bursting out in laughter.
“What, what are you laughing at?” Trevor’s voice was more embarrassed than Sypha had heard in ages, and she rested her head on his chest as her humor subsided.
“I just didn’t expect that from you,” she replied, “Sometimes you’re too easy to read, and sometimes I never know what you’re thinking.”
Trevor grinned and sat his chin on the top of her head. “That’s the magic of the Belmonts.”

He gestured lazily to the ceiling, where the roof yawned open into a swirling mass of golden clouds, a false sky stitched together from the remnants of the Beach. "Time’s a flat circle here. Everything that’s ever happened is happening right now. And everything that will happen?" He grinned, wide and unhinged. "Well, it’s already over."
He spread his arms, the sleeves of his robe falling back to reveal wrists lined with writings — some old, some fresh, as if he’d been testing the limits of his own flesh. "Gods are just monsters people pray to. And monsters?" He leaned in, close enough that Sam could see the way his pupils dilated, swallowing the blue of his irises whole. "Monsters are the only things left that mean anything."
