“People have called me the same,” Gatsby says self effacingly. “You can’t listen to people’s criticisms, old sport. You just have to live your life the way you want to live it. Eccentric or no.”
Nick growls and throws up his hands. His face is slowly turning red, and Gatsby feels sorry for having apparently frustrated him. “See! I have no idea if you know what that means or not!”Or, the one where Nick is trying to come out of the closet and Gatsby doesn't know any lingo whatsoever.
