Summary
Elphaba handed Galinda Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. A personal favorite of hers. It was a tale of many things, but at the heart of it was loneliness and longing. Elphaba wasn’t exactly sure why, but she felt as if this woman might need a story like that right now.
“Um… right. Thanks” Galinda said, as softly as she’s spoken today, and it was almost adorable.
Elphaba had to leave, she was so tired and delirious that she was thinking ridiculous thoughts.
Or; Elphaba works at a bookstore, Galinda becomes a repeat customer, gay shit ensues.

Meanwhile, she works to make Oz safer for Animals and searches for Elphaba, unwilling to accept that she is truly gone. Eventually, Glinda's determination is rewarded.

“Everything’s going to be fine. I love you.” And the words shatter something inside. Elphaba gives her a small smile, but it's edged with sadness. She presses her lips together to hold back her grief. It’s a wild and angry thing that rattles the bars of the cage she has around it.
Elphaba leans back, arms moving to swing the doors shut and Glinda panics. She unfreezes and lets impulse take over.
Her right arm stays curled around the Grimmerie, holding it close. Tight enough to bruise. Her left hand reaches out to Elphaba’s collar, tugs hard on the black material, and surges forward.

Couldn’t help but think that they should’ve kissed during their last scene together, so I wrote it. Featuring an eventual happy ending but with some devastation first.
