Summary
One could be chosen to be a member of a League in their respective region for many reasons. Some planned on it. Some did not. Plenty were kind. Several were nasty. Most of them were somewhere in-between. These are the stories behind the elites and gym leaders of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova - and how they achieved greatness. Will go in chronological order of when they received their titles.

The leagues were competitive with each other. This system was created long ago to ensure "friendly competition" so that another world region war wouldn't break out between each other like the last time. The Indigo League starts as the best. Unova's education system is nothing to joke about. Hoenn couldn't give less of a damn. Sinnoh's considered a laughingstock with nothing to lose. But as the years go by and things start to change, their competition becomes not-so-friendly. Generational trauma doesn't simply go away. It stays buried deep down, but stirs slowly, and before you know it, the five regions are like barrels of gunpowder, ready to burst.

Summary
Blue is Kanto Champion for thirty-nine minutes.
That’s it. Technically, he’s part of the Hall of Fame, technically he’s an accepted Champion. Technically, the title was his once, so it will always be his. Technically, he can’t lose it. He just loses being the present Champion.
He also, briefly, held the Kanto record for youngest ever Pokemon League champion. That was until Red, three months younger, caught up to him.
Really, Blue hadn’t even been surprised.

Summary
This is a rewrite. I wrote the original story in 2019ish, and then got massively burned out and self-conscious. I deleted everything—even my old AO3 account, magicalmayhems. And now, four years older and a little wiser, I decided to start this story again. To be clear: I do not intend to abandon it this time.

Summary
In order to appease the conniving human king, the great dog general Toga agrees to an arrangement in which he receives the human princess as a ward in exchange for their alliance. Unbeknownst to the humans, the Inu no Taisho and his royally cunning wife intend to hold their guest, the honorable Lady Rin, as hostage until her father cooperates.
Their perfect plan gets ruined by one small detail that nobody could have predicted: Their son, young and ambitious Sesshomaru, quickly becomes attached to the timid girl.
