Summary
“Ya can’t tell me to find someone else, and get pissed off when I actually do. That ain’t fair, Ford.”
Ford opens his eyes. Stan is inches away from his face.
“We can’t do this,” Ford says quietly, not being able to stop himself from glancing at Stan’s lips.
Stan leans in even closer. Ford forces himself to glance away.
“Then don’t look at me like that,” Stan says, voice almost as quiet as a whisper.

Summary
“Ya really don’t care?” Stan interrupts him, staring at him with disbelieving wide eyes. “I mean—Ford, I turn into a monster sometimes—ya don’t find that at all off-puttin’?”
Ford thinks about it then—Stan transforming into a beast doubled in size, covered with fur, with fangs and claws, snarling and towering over him—and promptly has to cross his legs.
“A-ah, no,” Ford stutters, feeling a bit of heat rush to his face. “Off-putting is not the term I would personally use.”

Summary
Ford looks away from him, face creased in thought. “Well…you were correct in assuming it started after the incident in the ruins. I started feeling…strange, since then. But I can’t pinpoint why, exactly.”
Stan hums. “Maybe you were just scared of being that small? Of me towerin’ over ya like that?”
Ford shakes his head immediately. “No, no. It wasn’t fear. That I’m sure of.”
That makes Stan pause—the certainty in Ford’s voice.
Interesting.

Summary
“Do you have a type?” Ford suddenly asks, making Stan grateful for breaking him out of his thoughts.
Stan shrugs. “I dunno. As far as non-human lays go, those half-man, half-cow things were pretty—”
It could be a trick of the light, but it looks like the tips of Ford’s ears darken. “In men, Stanley.”

Summary
These feelings had been dormant for ten years—Ford had assumed that his romantic attachment he had toward his twin was just a result of a terrible childhood, both of them forced to be codependent on each other. He had assumed it was a result of that, along with teenage hormones running wild and picking the worst possible target. He had assumed that it was just the bad luck of being unable to make friends in his teenage years.
Ford had assumed that these feelings would never return.
He was wrong.
He was catastrophically wrong. Sure, he had acknowledged to himself that Stan had aged quite well, looking especially attractive with his long hair and broad body, but it wasn’t just that. Seeing how Stan acts with those kids—how much he adores them and loves them—was truly his kryptonite.

Summary
How must it feel? Stan is no stranger to violation, he knows the way it can twist a person up, reforming the body and making it wholly unfamiliar. But when Stan got out of the worst situations in his life, he at least was comforted by that. The escape. The ability to put things behind him, to push them down, to fight violently against the memory every time it would dare to rear its head.
How must Ford feel, to see the physical evidence of his own violation in the mirror every day? Stan can’t take that away.
Worse still is his traitorous mind, which cannot bring itself to begrudge Ford’s body at all. His mind which connects to his eyes, the very same that follow the curves in his twin’s changed shape with something like appreciation. Symbol of his brother’s suffering as it is, Stanley thinks he’s beautiful.
All of it is cause for guilt.

OR:
Ford is recovering from the single worst experience of his life, Stan trying his best to care for his brother in the wake of his changing body. Yet, as Stanley tends to his pregnant brother and they bridge the gap between them, he begins to realize that his affection for his brother might go deeper than familial after all.

---
