Animacaeca disease, colloquially known as ‘Soulmate blindness,’ is a tremendously rare condition wherein an individual’s soulmate number, typically visible above the heart, is beyond all perception.
“Oh! Alhaitham, you’re back!” Kaveh greeted him, his eyes glimmering above a smile, unconditionally warm as he gestured to his right. “You were gone so long I missed your birthday… never mind that, let your senior treat you to a drink…”
For once, Alhaitham found himself incapable of registering the words protruding from Kaveh’s mouth as he was thrust into a frigid world, where an inescapable berate of frost struck his chest in a steady yet frantic rhythm. He later noted this to be the wild beating of his own heart.
“Alhaitham? Hello? What are you staring at- Oh did i manage to get something on my top again!” Kaveh dug around for a napkin, the swift turn only making the four digits on his chest more visible to Alhaitham whose eyes were nearing bloodshot due to the unmistakeable, dramatically elegant scrawl.

Summary
The most common place to find Kaveh on a Friday night after a long week of getting yelled at by his clients and getting paid too little for his efforts was the tavern. The predictable and routine rhythm of his Fridays always started innocently, with a few rounds of drinks with his friends.
At some point though, it would get to the point in the night where Kaveh had that itch creep up on him, toes tapping against the tavern’s wooden floorboards, and his eyes drifting away from his cards. His stress for the week would catch up to him and he would wander off to find someone willing to scratch that itch. Blessed with a beautiful face and generally likeable demeanor, finding a willing partner normally didn't take too long. It rarely took more than an hour or so for Kaveh to be plied with drinks by some potential suitor with whom the architect would chat and flirt until long after his friends had all gone home.

ORKaveh FUCKS and Alhaitham slowly realizes that his interest in Kaveh's weekly conquests aren't purely academic but because he wants to be one of them - or rather wants to be the ONLY one, even if he doesn't have the experience to back up his confidence that he can satisfy Kaveh.

Kaveh glances down at what must be some notes on the podium, pausing before he looks back up, shining in the bright lights of the stage.
“But in recent years, I must admit that my focus has shifted.”
Alhaitham leans forward, watching, hoping for something he can't quite admit. Not when the truth is that he’s never known how to say that he is hungry without fear that people will see the truth that he is starving.
