Summary
"Mike…" his voice comes out so low that he barely hears. "You don’t understand, do you?"
At last, Will turns his face toward him. Mike freezes.
The green eyes, intense and expressive, are wet. He has forgotten what it is like to see Will’s tearful eyes up close, and the image touches something deep in his heart. His hands, once warm, turn cold, and the chill that rises from his stomach to his throat seems to grow stronger. He swallows hard, Will’s face close, all of him far too close.
"I don’t… understand?" Mike asks, still lost in the flashes coming from Will’s eyes. His gaze drops to Will’s mouth, pink and trembling, just like the rest of his body.
"No, you don’t understand", Will says, shaking his head. "You never understand. You’re so stupid."
Mike does not react. He keeps staring at Will’s mouth, fighting against that desire that has lived inside him for God knows how long.
"Stupid…" he repeats, until he realizes what he just said. "Wait. What?"Or
Will and Mike return to the Wheelers’ basement after what happens at the Mac-Z. It is cold, but the feeling inside them is warm and corrosive, eating through everything until it spills outward.
