“So we’re a couple,” Megan joked then turned her head back to look at Yoonchae. Yoonchae was already staring at her but Megan could sense that the vibe was different. Maybe it was because of the music or maybe it wasn’t, but the atmosphere between the two of them shifted.
“We are.” Yoonchae said, her voice quieter. She sounded so sure and confident that Megan believed they really were together for a split second. Their faces were fairly distant but it also felt too close at the same time.
Megan swallowed nervously.

“Baby, please don’t move.” Despite the muffled voice, Yoonchae’s tone came out shaky, the neediness raw in her throat. A hand snaked under Megan’s shirt. Cold fingers burned into Megan’s warm skin as Yoonchae fully splayed her hand out on her stomach. “You’re so hot…”
Megan was starting to understand now. Just a bit, but it was coming to her slowly. She pieced the puzzles together and was at most confused by the end product, yet there was a small hint of amusement bubbling inside her chest. Yoonchae was desperate and at the mercy of her hands and—holy hell, what a dream come true.

Megan’s face was probably the same shade as her mask. She responded softly, more tenderly than intended, “Of course. I always will.”

But things shifted the day someone caught her holding a girl’s hand, stopping her from walking away. The photo spread like wildfire. No one saw the girl’s face, but everyone whispered about who she might be. Only Megan and the girl knew the truth—it was Yoonchae.
Yoonchae panicked when she found out. She cornered Megan, demanding that the picture be deleted, as if Megan herself had been the one to post it. Megan agreed, but not without making her own deal: she’d erase the evidence with the help of a friend, on one condition—that Yoonchae would let her stick around. That meant Megan had free rein to annoy her, show up wherever she was, stays even when she shouldn’t and insert herself into Yoonchae’s world.

Summary
Obviously, there would be times where her hair was way too long and when it began to get on her nerves Yoonchae did go to get a haircut – but she never let an inch of dye touch her hair, or got a fancy cut, but now at nineteen she’s standing in front of the mirror in her apartment with a v-cut layer haircut wondering why.
Then she remembers why.
Yoonchae looks away from the face that looked too much like the girl Megan loved. Yoonchae convinced herself that she was over Megan. But then why did Yoonchae’s heart ache every time she thought of Megan, or why can’t she clear out photos of them in her digital camera that she hasn’t been able to pick up for a while now, or why did she still refuse to text Megan asking if she can finally get her hoodie back?
