Summary
Baku has not been blessed with much, but his legendary fighting skills and undeniable popularity are things he clings on to like a lifeline. Everything is well, everything is fine, everyone loves Baku and that’s how he likes it. Nevermind if the outcast Na Baek-jin glares at him like he’s personally offended him just by existing.
One day, though, Baku comes across an offensive message scribbled on the bathroom wall – directed at him. He’d like to be cool about it, he’d like not to care about it… but those two little words, ‘f*** Baku’, send him spiralling down a rabbit hole of self-doubt. Soon, he finds himself in entirely uncharted territory – and in the middle of it all stands Na Baek-jin.

Though he tries to mask his pain with his natural warmth and easy charm, Baku has never been the same since losing Baekjin, not even after five years. It is Su-ho who tells them about Nina's: a place where, every night, a mysterious woman sings like a mermaid, her voice weaving a spell that captures the hearts of anyone who listens.

“What’s with you, man?” Gotak said, nudging him with an elbow. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost!”
“Did you fall in love?” Su-ho laughed, raising his glass. “Looks like Nina’s hit the bullseye after all!”
Baku just shook his head slightly, his voice low, almost cracking: “Didn’t… didn’t she remind you of anyone? It’s like I’ve already seen her, somewhere…”
His friends stared at him for a moment, then went back to drinking and laughing. Skeptical, convinced he was just caught up in the atmosphere. But Baku couldn’t shake her image from his mind. Baekjin removes his arm over his eyes, he gives Humin the same hard look. “I’m in heat.”
Right. Like an omega, and not an alpha. Because his childhood friend, whom he hasn’t seen in years, came back taller, stronger, and as the biggest pain in the ass turned out to be an omega.
