When I enter the room proper, he glances over one sudsy, freckled shoulder and offers me a tired smile. I manage to return it, though I’m feeling just as weary, then bend over to plant a kiss to the top of his head. His hair is wet, but his scalp bleeds warmth into my lips; when I pull away, my smile is a little more genuine.
