Maybe that’s all Lottie’s ever been, anyway, just a dog with no master, seeking shelter wherever it’s given.

Summary
Shauna’s hand trembles over the base of Natalie’s throat. She keeps her eyes locked onto Nat’s, pressing the blade of the knife against her skin. Their breaths mingle, shaking and stuttering in time with each other. She doesn’t look away from Nat, even as she hears the room descend into chaos, as Travis yells. From the corner of her eye, she sees Tai, Van, and Mari holding him back. She worries, for a moment, that he might break free. He cries out, yelling for Nat to run, and Shauna panics, pressing the knife in and cutting as deeply as she can.

“You’re going to mess up your lipstick. Worked hard on that.” Nancy’s hand is gripping Robin’s chin. Her finger almost in Robin’s mouth. Pressing. Robin can’t get any relief.
“Sorry. Bad habit,” Robin forces out. Her voice sounds rough, breathy, nothing like herself.
Nancy smiles, kind. Even this close to Robin, Nancy looks at her like there’s nothing wrong with her, with the way she is. All of Robin’s incompetence and how uncontrollable she feels sometimes, Nancy sees all of it. And Nancy, perfect fucking Nancy Wheeler, doesn’t shy away. She wants more, more of Robin.

Robin swept into the shop with the energy of a windstorm that had learned how to walk, cheeks pink from the cold and eyes bright with mischief. She tipped her head back and inhaled like she was tasting the air.
“Oh,” she said reverently. “This place is delicious.”
Behind her, Steve ducked beneath the lintel, moving with the careful balance of someone who had learned how to stand between danger and other people without thinking about it. His eyes found Nancy’s and held there, earnest and uncertain, like he wasn’t sure whether he deserved to be seen.
Nancy felt the moment shift, routine cracking, something old and restless stirring beneath it. Whatever had been scratching at the edges of Hawkins had just found its way to her door.

Summary
Robin slams on the brakes and backpedals so they don't swerve out. And as she looks, she sees a sea of officials' cars. "Shit."
"Shit," El says, and it sounds so childish.
Robin playfully swats at El and lightly reprimands, "Don't repeat that. Bad."
"Sorry." Robin can tell El's not telling the truth, but she lets it slide.
"Tomorrow it is," Robin says, about to rush back home before anyone spots them. That is, until El flings herself off the back, running past Robin and through the Wheelers' front lawn.
"El, come back, you can't just, dammit," Robin yelps at El. Who just brushes the imaginary dirt off her arms and walks to the front of the Wheelers' house. Oh, they're so going to get caught.
In her pursuit Robin accidentally stumbles into El, who comes to a stop at the front window, and looks through the curtains at someone. Robin looks through as well, and lands on a lovesick Mike Wheeler. Oh brother.
