His uncle Baelor said and he clapped a hand on his father's shoulder with a gesture of forgiveness and camaraderie, "I admit my head rings like a bell but I am well enough to walk it seems. The Gods are not done with me yet." A man who had taken a mace to the head should be bedridden, blind or drooling and not standing here joking about taking a blow to the head.
His uncle smiled with his teeth white and straight and for a second, the light caught his eyes in a way that made them look flat like painted glass. The sight of it made Aerion take a step back, just enough to make the floor creak underneath him.
That is no uncle of mine, Aerion wants to say.
There's something wrong with his uncle after the Ashford Tourney. Aerion Targaryen knows something is wrong even if the rest of his kin stare at him like he has lost his mind.

Aerion had struggled to reason coming to see his Uncle, choosing to act rather than think, but as he felt his slick pool in his small clothes he felt he understood. He had always wanted to become a true dragon, and when he had presented as an Omega his anger had only grown. He had been robbed of a dragon, and then he was robbed of his agency. Yet, even as a young boy he knew there was still one dragon left in the family, the greatest Alpha in his family, his Uncle. The hand on his chin and the mark on his cheek felt like dragon flame.

Baelor's mouth opened and closed, though his hold on Aerion's hip remained firm, his other hand stretched out and sliding up the other's thigh. "Stay a moment… you have nowhere to be, I'd wager?"
Aerion frowned, lip curling like he had the taste of a nasty little retort on his tongue. "Suppose I don't. You just seem awful eager to be rid of me most other times."
He knew what Aerion looked like when he was fishing for pity, and it stung to know he wasn't doing so when he said such a thing. It was an inarguable fact, and he'd long given up testing that.
