Summary
The days wear down on him. Sleep is a refuge he can no longer take, that is, until his body feels hollow and fragile and so very close to shattering into a million tiny pieces; only then does he permit himself rest. He stops thinking about smoke and boys and how it might feel to have his hand in another's because these are not things he can have. It is built into his very physiology, to his core, he is different and odd and undeserving of the soft embrace of tenderness and affection.
He is hardly a person most days, but entirely recognizable because this is who he has always been. In the company of tumbleweed and moonlight, every movement, action, and discovery pushes down the desperate plea within him to discover what god formed him from the wrong kind of sand. He finds nothing of substance.
Till a light crashes into the desert and he feels hope for the first time in what feels like his whole life.
A slightly tweaked version of canon from Keith's perspective. I regret nothing.

“You flirt with Caitlyn for me, through me. You write her letters, leave her notes, tell me what to say-”
“No!”
“-and eventually she falls for me, we get married, we have two okay kids, one is kind of ugly but it's fine because he’s a visionary, he continues my life work-”
“I’ve never wanted to punch you more in my life, and I have punched you multiple times."

A fake, but also not, dating au fuelled entirely by delusion. Vi wants peace. Jayce wants a relationship. Caitlyn is confused. Viktor is confused. Jinx wants everyone dead. So not entirely an au at all.

Sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll.
Caitlyn was firm in her opinions on sex. She had a somewhat fortified stance on drugs. But music? Rock and roll? She didn’t know much. She was about to find out though, she supposed.

Summary
"You were stupid," Eiji laughs.
"Yeah, yeah," says Aslan. "I got it already." His voice is New York thick: gritty and vibrant, the great tangling jungle ever advertised. But he's not protesting, as if he knows he can't. I watch them and wonder how many times they've cycled through this ping pong game of smiling and grumbling. Aslan is sharp as a tack, but I get the feeling Eiji is usually the winner.
This is how they choose to answer me after I ask them how they met. I've been working for weeks on a piece about couples in Central Park.

“Hello again! I am glad to see you are okay! I was thinking you were not wanting to come because of yesterday,” he laughed nervously, scratching behind his head. “But I’m glad I can introduce myself finally.” He looked up, smiling that soft smile, extending out his hand.
“My name is Eiji.”OR

Summary
“Beauty needs a witness.”
“So does a testimony.”
Ash gave a laugh at that, the sound throaty and true. “Well,” he breathed. “You're a damn good crime, then.”
Artistically, carnally, lovingly: “You have all of me, Ash.”
