It’s as if he spends his life stitching the wounds Vanitas makes when he has episodes and enters self-destruct mode. Relationships? Noé’s the one who rationalises things and helps him patch them up again. Friendships? Noé’s the one who never leaves him, no matter what. Responsibilities? Noé helps him out because that’s what best friends do. Self-care? Noé never lets Vanitas go a day without at least trying. Every time Vanitas fights against whatever good comes his way, Noé is the one who shoves it back his way until it smothers him, because he loves Vanitas with every ounce of his being and he’s not going to leave.

Too good for him. Every time something good comes his way, it’s as if every part of him fights against it; as if he’s drawn back to the same pit of self-pity which he’s too afraid to leave because he knows no different.
