There is something terribly cruel about your soulmate being revealed to you when you’re eighteen, but the world had always been cruel to Regulus, so he never paid that whole soulmate thing any mind, until now. See, Regulus didn’t plan to fall in love before turning eighteen – everyone knew it was pointless to do so, even though some people couldn’t really avoid it. He called his brother an idiot enough time about his love story with Remus, so he’s aware of how much of a hypocrite it makes him that he fell in love only one year before turning eighteen.
