“Lancelot,” Sonic sighed, propping an elbow on the armrest, his voice casual yet tinged with something wearier. “Y’know you don’t have to do this every time, right? I get it, you’re loyal.”
The knight did not rise. He never did until dismissed. “Mine liege,” Lancelot intoned, his voice low and steeped in reverence, “thy presence is both my honor and my penance. To serve thee is to be made whole, and without thy guiding light, I am but a blade without purpose, a sinner without absolution.”
Sonic blinked. “Yeah, uh… cool, I guess.”
