There's a tradition on Qian Cao Peak where the new Head Disciple ask the Head Disciple of An Ding Peak for an impossible to get cure-all plant as somewhat of a test to see what kind of Peak Lord they are going to be.
Too bad that the test didn't take into account Shang Qinghua not realizing that he should not be able to adquire what Mu Qingfang has asked of him.

Summary
The dilemma that Shang Qinghua, advisor/husband/spy/personal manservant of Mobei-Jun, faces, is that he has no idea what to gift his newly married spouse.
Typically, when demons get married, it’s a pretty lackluster event, with barely any ceremony, but that isn’t the case for royalty.
When they got married, there was a huge celebration, with every cousin, aunt, and servant of Mobei-Jun being invited. It was terrifying. And also very ego-boosting, knowing that Mobei-Jun was willing to basically rub in everybody’s faces that he was marrying a little weak human instead of the hundred other powerful demon wives he had lined up.
So obviously, Shang Qinghua has to do something equally impressive for Mobei-Jun. It’s just repaying the deed, out of love. Simple, right? Of course not.
or, sqh asks around for what sort of present to get his husband, gets some bad advice, and accidentally ends up following demon traditions and gifting mobei-jun the head of his enemy (literally).

Summary
As sect leader, Yue Qingyuan is often sent out on diplomatic missions to maintain relations with other cultivators. As they deal in similar circles, he is often sent out with his cowardly shidi, Shang Qinghua.
They don’t get into as much conflict as the types of missions his other martial siblings get up to, but usually he takes initiative as both Shang Qinghua’s shixiong and his sect leader.
He’s never seen Shang Qinghua take the first move against a foe before. Nevertheless eviscerate a demon.
