Summary
Poppy failed. She never found Q.B. Noyouko and Mr. Lam moved on, taking the future of Giant Goldfish Publishing with him. Now she has a month to find a new job; otherwise her only option is to move back to Moonbright and face the small town’s judgement. Then the broody man who’d left her life knocks on her door, needing a favor.
The Balthumans are expanding, which means Quincey and Tora have to represent the family at official—legal—events. More than that, Vince has decided it’s time for his sons to settle down. When the adamantly-single Tora claims to have a girlfriend, he has days to find someone to pretend to date him, else he’ll be stuck with whomever Vincent chooses.
She needs money. He planned to pay a woman regardless. For the next few months, Poppy is, in her own words, Tora’s sugar baby. Just until she gets back on her feet, and just long enough that Tora can claim a painful break up.
And it’s entirely platonic… right?

Summary
When a plot to take out Vincent fails, the cast is forced to scatter, meaning Tora has to get Poppy out of Narin before the Balthuman Clan has chance to use her to get to him. But he ghosted her after Felicia's Bay and he doesn't even know if she'll answer the door after a year of silence. If she does, he'll have to convince her to follow him into the unknown. If she doesn't, he'll have to take her anyway.
With a trunk full of cash and unregistered guns, he'll have to work hard to keep them both alive long enough to give her her life back.
