The reporter almost crashed into him, mic rustling unpleasantly on the live broadcast. “Huh? So the breakup didn't influence you? Maybe a new flame, then? Trouble in paradise?”
Kaiser turned slowely, bending down until his lips hovered right above the mic in a way that it picked up his breathing. It looked sincere, sweat-stained hair sticking to his cheek - nothing like the typical yards-away disdain fans were used to.
“There is no breakup.”
Ness pulled away, and Kaiser didn’t pull back. Leashes weren’t meant to strangle, but this one slipped right off.
