Summary
«They say that fire purify, but I only saw how your absence petrified in every corner of my mind. I hated the stone before learning to hate your name; I detested the devotion of those who worship ashes while ignoring the flames.
I lost myself in the cold to flee from your monuments, from our memories, believing that time was a friend who could kill your presence. But upon returning, there you were: intact, trapped in that smile that mocks my centuries of winter. I don't know what insult I hurled at your silence that night, nor why my lips sought the impossible warmth of your face.
Or perhaps it was just the delirium of someone who has spent too long embracing a shadow they could never let go of»

Sometimes, from love to hate, there is only one step... And with that step, sometimes you don't even know if you can control yourself from your own desires, especially with the person you claim to "hate."

Summary
"I saw him before he put the mask on."
500 years before the events of Natlan Archon Quest, right after the Cataclysm, Mavuika and Thrain meet at the Weary Inn. 500 years later, they meet again, on opposite sides of a war - and with a whole lot of history to unpack. This is the story of that history, and also a story of what makes people keep living or not.
“I’d die for you, that’s easy to say
We have a list of people that we would take
A bullet for them, a bullet for you
A bullet for everybody in this room
[...]
I’d live for you, and that’s harder to do
Even harder to say when you know
It’s not true.”
