Summary
Timothy Jackson-Drake's life is perfect. Summary
High school third-year Zanka Nijiku has no time to be balancing study, friends, his relationship with a not-quite-mad scientist, and moonlighting as a villain- but he tells himself it's worth it, especially when it's all in order to take down a company that has been sinking its teeth into the city's politics for quite some time now.
But with the media breathing down his neck, a group of villains beginning to move, and a persistent new vigilante by the name of Nightclaw attempting to pin him down, Zanka has to tread carefully, else he risks everything falling apart.

“What?” Zanka’s voice cracks on the question, an alarming expression morphs his face, “Please, repeat that?”
“Jabber is joining The Cleaners starting today,” Corvus repeats with all the seriousness in the world, not a hint of humor nor sarcasm is shown, “He’s going under the vigilance and tutelage of Team Akuta.”
Jabber joins the cleaners for reasons Zanka doesn't really want to know.

Summary
Zanka’s breaths are short and wet– he’s not long for this world. Without his mask and with that gaping wound in his chest, anyone can see that he’s not going to survive more than another minute or so. Jabber sits beside him, giddy with anticipation as he waits for Zanka's inevitable death.
Jabber gets trapped in a time loop where Zanka dies, over and over. It doesn't bother him- he loves the look on Zanka's face as the light fades from his eyes- until he comes to a few realisations about himself, and then it really, really does.

Summary
“What do you mean not adequate enough?” Zanka practically shrieked at the professor, after everyone had left the room to continue on with their, likely, much better day. Although keeping most of his internal panic to himself, Zanka began to feel that control shake.
The older man stayed stoic, staring him down like he was nothing more than just that: not adequate enough.
The man sighed, gingerly sliding the printed version of Zanka's very carefully done research paper across the table. It had the mark written in blazing, disappointing crimson in the corner. 71%.
Seventy. Fucking. One.
“I simply wasn't impressed by it,” The man responded, like it was the simplest thing to be said in the universe. “I've seen your other work, Nijiku. You can do better than that.”

OR, Zanka has a terrible day and Jabber comforts him.
