“What happened?” Finn asks. “After the war? Why did you leave? Where did you go?”
Rey doesn’t answer for a moment. She stares at her friend, instead. Takes him in and wonders if this will be the last time she ever sees him.
She hopes it won’t be, of course, but will he understand? That seems far-fetched, but maybe he could be happy for her, even if he doesn’t. She owes him the opportunity to try, at least - that and an explanation.
“Are you sitting down?”
“What? No?”She sighs. “You may want to.”

“No, Ben. You’re not.” It sounds more like she’s denying him some opportunity than reassuring him, like she won’t let him die, like her outright refusal can stop the inevitable.
To her credit, it seems to be working.
