Summary

Angel's good at adapting, and in the early 1940's, it's the first time he's ever met a man like himself. Ensuing: Sex, and guns, and cigarettes, and a lot of liberties taken with historical accuracy.

Husk rolls his eyes and runs thick fingers through Angel’s hair. “I feel so loved.”

Angel doesn't work for Val anymore, doesn't have to answer to empty apologies after Val bleeds him dry in every way. Husk loves him right, but the wounds are still slow to heal.

Summary
Ilya clocks it very quickly when Shane comes home from an additional practice, carrying himself awkwardly and holding his weight off of his right ankle. He watches without a word as Shane attempts to walk properly, fighting the wince in his face. He wants to ask if Shane thinks he’s that good of an actor, or if Ilya is that stupid he can’t pick up on a hidden injury.
Or, Shane hides an injury. Ilya isn’t impressed.

Husk closes his eyes, and his face crumples with pain. He doesn’t cry. Not much of a cryer, his man. Not like Angel. But he knows it hurts all the same.
“Miss her even when she’s still here,” he whispers. “Sometimes it feels like she ain’t mine anymore. Like ever since the divorce, I’m not really her daddy.”
