Seriously. The guy looks dead. Sure, he’s standing and he’s breathing, but even his eye movements look slow, his skin is pale like he’s cold despite it being late spring, and his grip on his backpack straps looks more habitual than anything.
Thank god, Duke thinks, that someone got him to the manor before someone took advantage of him.
[Inspired by a tumblr post. A teenager who has no name (Danny) and seems unable or unwilling to communicate is brought to the manor. Attempts are made to break his shell, and if Danny could do it safely, he'd be panicking.]

To Jazz, this is a political crisis. A random human has just become King of the Infinite Realms. This is clearly a ploy from Vlad to soften the battlefield, by making the weakest known liminal on record the king so that Vlad himself can more easily defeat him and steal the throne.
To Jason, this is a fantasy come true.

Danny purposely wrote the worst fanfiction he could think of to mentally destroy Tucker and posted it online for everyone to read.
It was a fic so horrid that it would make Lex Luthor squirm, the Justice League writhe and any bats reading it cringe so hard their spines would be turned to powder!
...so why was the Justice League at his door? And why are they saying that they need to protect him from the people his fic pissed off? We're supervillains really going to try to murder him over one fanfic?
A nearby explosion was his answer. Huh. At least it wasn't ghosts this time.
