It’s been half a year now since his marriage to Mel fell apart and Jayce became a stay-at-home dad. A little less than that, since he offered Viktor the empty guest room, just to make juggling work and child-rearing overall easier.
It’s a question of convenience, really. Jayce gets to take care of his daughter, but he also has someone to watch her when he needs to run errands, to play with her next door while Jayce is in a conference call with their sponsors.
And if Mae gets a little confused about how many daddies she has… or if Jayce is in denial about what kind of partner he wants Viktor to be… Well. They’re going to figure it out eventually.

Summary
When Chan was a kid his life was full of superstitions.
Don’t let black cat cross your road. Don’t walk under the ladders. Don’t look in the broken mirrors. His parents made sure that he avoids all kinds of bad omens, signs, and stays away from potentially dangerous things.
No one told Chan that twenty-four years later he will be spending most of his time at the cemetery.
It’s interesting how things work in life. One day you’re an aspiring music major student, and the next day you’re walking through greyness and dullness of the cemetery, with a flashlight in your hand while trying to scare off nosy teens who come there to entertain themselves.
You could say life is a bitch.
