    We first meet Rafiki and Zazu as grown men, well-established members of Mufasa's kingdom.
    Then in the Mufasa movie, we encounter them as young adults and gain perspective on how they became the beloved characters we all know.
    The Mufasa movie also gave some hints to Zazu's and Rafiki's backgrounds.
    Here is their origin story.

    Sondela means "come closer" in Zulu. It's a word from "We Go Together," a song in the Mufasa movie - the only song Rafiki and Zazu sing together.

    Musar is the heir of Uaminifu and Malaika, or at least he's supposed to be. The Wakubwa pride from where he's from is supposed to be the perfect pride. In his parents' eyes, he doesn't meet their expectations of the perfect lion. He knows about it, and is fighting the expectations he needs to reach.
