Summary
Tomoe knew that something was bound to go wrong; he just didn’t expect it to go wrong right from the get-go. Sighing, he flapped his fan and tried to calm himself.
"What happened?" he asked coolly, trying his best not to blow a gasket right that very second.
Akura piped up first. "The snake ate the bread that contained the first clue!"
OR
The wild adventures of Tomoe and Nanami as they celebrate their first Valentine's Day as a couple, no thanks to an oni and snake duo.

ꫂ᭪݁ Gratitude of the highest order: A kiss, sealing the contract to be your familiar...
"What does it take for you to notice me Tomoe? For you to finally see me as someone worthy of your love?!"
The truth is way darker than what you could imagine. He was scared to love another human. Humans are weak, they die easily and require so much care. Why should he mourn another loss when his heart could hardly take it?
When the new land God is a mere human. Of course the fox yokai would be against such blasphemy! A human wants to be a God? It would only take 3 days for her to go running! Wishing she never stepped foot on the grounds of this shrine.
But what if the girl he pushed away so insistently was someone who was bound to him deeper than land god and yokai?
