Flying is an open fall. It’s the wind in his hair, the cold of the night biting his skin, the pool of dread on the bottom of his belly. Flying is terror, trembling hands, shaky breathing. Flying is a splash of color on the gray, monotone canvas of his life. A splash of blood on the linoleum floor. Watercolor thrown on an unused notebook.

He tried to take a step forward, kiss Ballister, like in the movies. The sunset would be the only witness of their love, their hearts. Ballister took another step back, avoiding Ambrosius. The world would be the judge of their love, and he already knew what the verdict would be.
