Summary
He’s well aware being a janitor, to the average Joe, wouldn’t spark joy, but for Buck, the position was perfect. Any opportunity to plug in his AirPods and tune out the world for a while was worth it, and okay, maybe he lied when he said he loved working with kids, but it’s not like he’s working directly with them; they just happen to occupy the same space. And, to his surprise, one kid in particular managed to worm his way into his heart and make a home there.

Summary
“Excuse me,” Buck groused, lightly shoving him off. “Eddie is taking me out after I spent ten fucking grand on him by winning a bidding war against my own SISTER.”
Hen inspected the photos that the restaurant’s website was offering. “Well, it’s very nice,” she said. She squinted. “Highly rated date spot, but whew, forty bucks for a lasagna?”
“And on my dime, no less,” Eddie grumbled.
“It’s not a date spot,” Buck said defensively.
or,
Buck accidentally spends ten thousand dollars on Eddie at a charity auction. As payback, he insists that Eddie take him out to dinner.

Summary
The bells on Bucky’s green elf boots jingled merrily as he followed the crowd of lonely looking people toward the parking lot. It took him a few minutes to realize that the bells he could hear weren’t just coming from him but also from someone up ahead. A large, brawny man rang a tarnished handbell and stood next to a red pail hanging from a stand with a sign asking for donations. To Bucky he may as well have been a choir of angels welcoming him to the city.
“Hi-ya!” He called out with a wave when he was a few feet away.
The man spotted Buck and started shaking his head. “Nope. Uh-uh. No thank you.”
He must have thought Buck was someone else.
“I’m Bucky the Elf!” He explained. “What’s your name?”
“Frosty the Snowman,” the man replied with a very serious look on his face.
Buck felt like maybe the world wasn’t so big after all, if one of the first people he met in LA had the same name as one of his pals from back home!
