Summary
I wrote this at like 3:00am based on a dream I had. So.
.Mike was touchy, it was just in his nature.
Maybe that's why, when Mike reached out, hands cupping his own, leaning in close, a murmur of “I miss you, Will. I miss us,” all Will did was squeeze back, the way he always had.
It started off the same as always, something unintentional that Will could brush off, accident touches that slowly grew into something friendly, platonic, normal. The occasional nudge of an elbow to his side, a long look and a hand reaching out to grip his shoulder. Simple. Friendly.
But now?
Now Mike couldn't seem to be able to keep his hands off of him.
It was driving Will crazy.

“I’m sorry,” Mike whispers. This- this was something he was used to. Mike apologizing first. Will getting mad, Mike doing everything he can to make it better, Will crumbling like he never had an angry thought to begin with. Letting it fester again. And yet, it works every time. Mike is just… brave, even though Will knows how much Mike hates it when they fight. He’s brave, and he’s strong, and he’s- Will’s resolve falters immediately, traitorous and familiar.

Will makes a sound he doesn’t recognize as his own. He tries to focus on how Mike repeated his last sentence. Mike said everything twice when he got emotional. Maybe Mike was just- just nervous. That had to be it. He was nervous and trying to let Will down easy, and he thought by indulging him it would make the rejection go by smoother. A dumb idea, but one that he could possibly see happening.(Love the characterization of Mike being the one who wants to apologize, be gentle, make sure Will is okay and take the fall to make anything better bc thats canon. Along w Will having wants but bottling things up and excusing certain things instead of assuming so that he’s not risking misconstruing Mike’s actions even though Mike is being pretty obvious. Will does know to look for signals now but I think he’d still be cautious to not misinterpret things until he hears them directly. Mike loves to talk, but its more to comfort and to make others feel better/give them attention so he can feel needed. When it comes to things like his own feelings specifically he still struggles to express them, and tends to shut down when it comes to needing to do so. Which is why here specifically with Will, he lets their relationship do the talking and his actions, hoping to push until Will gets the message without words, because he knows what Will wants and wants to give it to him without having to actually talk about it lol.)

Summary
“You’re acting odd.”
It is Kaveh, not Alhaitham, who says such a thing a week later over breakfast. Alhaitham does not look up from his book but does offer a muted ‘hm’ as a response. Apparently, it is unsatisfactory to Kaveh, who crowds his space and nudges at the offending object.
Alhaitham sees Kaveh collecting flowers one morning on his way to work. Alhaitham, despite his own good sense, assumes the worst. Eventually, they get there together.

Lance turns to Keith one day and asks, “Did you know me and you are the same shoe size?” It’s quieter than Lance is known to be because they’re in the middle of a meeting, and Keith shakes his head almost imperceptibly—because they’re in the middle of a meeting.
“How do you know that?” Keith whispers back when Lance doesn’t immediately elaborate and Shiro is detailing some of the work Keith had done on his last Marmora run.
Lance’s expression rapidly changes through a few different and distinct emotions, his face reddening across his cheeks and to the tips of his ears. “Pay attention.” He hisses.
