A trilogy (UPDATE: whoops, now a quadrilogy) inspired, loosely, by Richard Linklater's wonderful Before film trilogy. Note: Castiel is not an angel here, but everything else is more or less the same as canon.

One from my Dreamwidth archives - I'm not sure why I've never posted this to AO3 before! Set during season five (yes, it's an old fic - originally posted in December 2009!) after 'The End' and 'Abandon All Hope’. For once, this actually isn’t Dean/Castiel (though you can always see it if you want) – it’s pretty much just an excuse to (1) whump an angel and (2) write some thoughtful!Sam because I was in that kind of a mood. So, expect whump and, er, thoughts.
