imagine avid didn't have the courage to approach shelby, in case being turned wasn't going to be enough, and she would have to kill him. he doesn't want anyone else to live through the guilt he has had to live with all this time, so he approaches the one person in all of Oakhurst who has told him to his face that he will kill him and make him suffer, begging for help in any form the vampire is willing to offer. owen isn't sure what to make of it, at first, but after a bit, something inside of him softens to the idea.
