Summary
The night seemed to be quiet. Suspiciously quiet. Even when Mount Olympus is being attacked and Chronos is in the House of Hades with his legion in Tartarus. I was expecting something to go wrong, but nothing was happening.
I was not expecting to find three kids trapped in the city of Ephyra. Who could've known they would change the whole mission of my life and help me with defeating monsters?Or in short, what if the trio got into Hades II?

It bothers Artemis more than she's willing to admit. With that, she finally decides to take matters in her own hands. She wants to find out what is happening.

I haven’t prepared for that situation. It didn’t follow the plan I made in my mind a few minutes ago.
Yeah, I know that this is an excellent way to describe a situation I had to encounter. I apologize for that. It will probably happen again. It depends if I am going to survive this or not.In short, what if Annabeth didn't meet Thalia and Luke that day? What if she met someone else?
Someone who would have changed her life entirely. Also change the whole story of how Annabeth met different people who would have mattered to her in canon.

The Fates can always weave, and keep weaving their designs. But ultimately, the choices always stay within those defying it: The choice to love. The choice to live. The choice of defiance. The choice to question things. The choice to satiate curiosity.
Zagreus was always one to defy the Fates every chance he got. Maybe he could help his sibling do such a thing as well.
It would probably have helped - if only Chronos hadn't taken over the House.

Summary
Zagreus seems unusually bothered by his desire to see the surface, so Melinoë removes his tie/curse to the Underworld and takes him on a trip to experience what he's missed. Together, the siblings learn about each other's ambitions and life on the surface, though not without friction.
“Could you take me to the surface?” Zagreus asked after a pause.
“Yes,” she said. “I’d be glad to.” Melinoë took a breath, savoring the damp chthonic air. She preferred the scent of deathly life in Erebus, but this felt right too. “May I ask why you would like to see the surface so badly?”
Zagreus winced. “I’m not sure you’d understand. It’s something I have to do.”
“I do, Zag. I was born to do what I do, but it took so long before I was able…I wanted my family. I wanted my big brother.”
“You don’t. It’s more personal than that.”
“Zagreus…” It stung. “You can’t say that.” She wanted to say something worse but didn’t want to hurt him.
“I’ll tell you another time.” Zagreus ran a hand through his hair. His eyes darted around, looking for an escape.
