Sirius has turned mostly, now, talking as he takes the bacon out of the pan and starts with the eggs. His intent was originally to tease Remus, but now he’s scared of hearing something that he doesn’t want to hear.

When Ray and Frank had gotten to Belleville a few weeks before, they’d laid out the situation in no uncertain terms: the city government was broke. Extremely broke. On-the-verge-of-bankruptcy broke. Which meant that all of the programs Gerard had worked so hard to implement in his years working his way excruciatingly slow through the ranks of the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department — free art clinics and music classes for at-risk kids, bike exchanges with the Department of Transportation, all the things closest to his heart — had to stop immediately.
A very loose Parks & Rec AU. Written for My Trick-or-Treat Romance 2020, with the "Treat" prompt "corn maze!"

Summary
Frank Iero is doing alright. He loves his job as the secondary pastry cook at Miette in Brooklyn. He's making decent money, he has actual healthcare benefits, he still manages to find time to mess around on the guitar, and his body is covered in tattoos like he'd always wanted. He's just fine. Like okay yeah, he wake up at the asscrack of dawn every day, and sure, he isn't exactly a published author like the Bachelor of English Literature collecting dust under his bed would have implied, and alright yeah, he's still hung up on the ex that broke his heart.
That last part certainly isn't helped by the fact that said ex dropped into his life again by way of a visit to Frank's bakery, sparking a newfound e-stalking obsession when Frank discovered that they've become a food influencer by the name "Chef Gee" in the years since they split. All the more insulting, Frank was the one who taught them everything they know about cooking, and half the recipes 'Chef Gee' posts are word-for-word recreations of things Frank made for them when they were together.
