How if I had been a little less observant, I’d be tortured in Cazador’s dungeon right now and you would have already moved on to your next target! Or maybe you just don’t want to confront the fact that maybe out of those people he made you lure back, there were some that would have helped you if they had known and you condemned them the way you would have condemned me!”
“You’re nothing like the rest! No one else ever asked!”
“Do you really believe no one would have asked if they knew? That every single one of them deserved what you did?!”
Astarion knows he can trust his druid that he met before the Nautiloid attack but that feeling doesn't extend to their new companions. Chasing absolute security, Astarion falls into old habits only for it blow up spectacularly in his face and he'll have to learn to trust the others to fix it.
