Not for the first time, Vash wishes it could be him and Wolfwood on the dance floor like that, their friends and family cheering around them. He has half a mind to drag Wolfwood onto the floor, but he doesn’t want to do much more to fan the gossip about the two of them. The town leaves them well enough alone, now that the ranch is back in swing, but Vash knows better than to go flaunting it around. Still, it doesn’t mean he wants it any less.

"Maybe I wanna take a ride on you, too," Wise suggests, letting a coy smile rise to the surface as he takes another sip from the canteen. "Think you might be up for that, sometime?"
Lighter's mouth goes slack for a moment before he collects himself. "Whoa," he says, and then hesitates. Oh yeah, that's definitely a flush spilling across his cheeks. "You, uh. You sure you mean that?"
"Well, we're standing face to face. Can't try to blame this one on my phone being hacked," Wise points out playfully, enjoying the scent of blood in the water. He steps closer, watching the movements of Lighter's eyes tracking him behind those tinted lenses. He wants to see that pretty green shade again. "So I guess I must be serious."
Lighter swallows, looking him up and down. Maybe he doesn't realize that in this lighting, Wise can tell exactly how much his gaze lingers.
The boys go for a ride together in the Outer Ring for the first time. Wise decides to put it all out there and gets a nice little return on his investment. (If anything about Lighter can be called little...)
