“I want to go back, too.” Kaiser dissociates, retreating from the sting of rejection by someone he didn’t know could cut this deep. “This world disgusts me.”
“Why? Because I see you?” Ness is firm but kind, crawling across the tangled sheets to close the space between them. “Because I know you?”
"Shut up!"
Ness falls silent, but there’s a fire in his eyes that lets Kaiser know this version of Ness is dangerous. Maybe his Ness is, too. Because, under Ness's gaze, Kaiser is completely-
“You wouldn’t let me kiss your neck for the longest time,” Ness says, like he isn’t unraveling Kaiser from the inside out. “Now it’s your favorite.”

In his past life, the only person who had ever been so gentle with him was his mother — and even that had been only temporary, as the rancid air of their poisonous home had gradually drained at her sanity until she could hardly stand the sight of him, much less hold him close like she once did.
Now, there is Hawks. The hero is gentle with him like his mother once was, as if he’s something more than the amalgamated patchwork monster that had risen from the grave of a dead boy with one singular task in mind: destroy his creator, no matter the cost.
Affection has never been his to keep for long. Dabi doesn’t know what to do with it.

Atsushi slumps back in his chair and clenches his fists in his lap. Akutagawa assumes that he wants a complex, wide-ranging talk; he wants the words to leave Akutagawa's mouth incessantly, to explain everything there is to explain. Akutagawa cannot offer him that. His emotions have a weight that he prefers to carry on his chest for the rest of his days, because in a world that has done nothing but take everything away from him, at least this is his to keep.(Complex emotions, all transformed into anger because being angry is easy. They will be ruined inside him, but he is used to the rot).
Akutagawa doesn't know how to touch anything without leaving bloodstains on it.
