Flambae gripped the straps and ignited, flames roaring over his body as he pushed off the ground.
Waterboy gasped as the ground dropped away, the violent jostle sloshing the liquid inside him so hard it nearly broke him.Flambae glanced down to check on him. Waterboy forced a shaky thumbs-up, his face pale and shining with sweat. He was balancing on every edge possible, his seat, his sanity, his body’s thinning tolerance. Another brutal surge hit, and Waterboy squeezed his thighs, willing the flood inside him back long enough for him to release his full power at the right time.

As wildfires burn through forest and City of L.A., Flambae and Waterboy are sent to the fireline to douse the flames. Waterboy resorts to using a secret ability that increases his water expulsion, but comes with dire, wet consequences. Along the way, Waterboy navigates his unstable powers, his misbehaving bladder and a strange, budding relationship with his fiery colleague.
