Summary
Set on the episode where they summoned Raphael on Earth.
“Well, last night on Earth. What are your plans?” Dean asks.
Castiel looks at him thoughtfully, his eyes devoid of any worldly wants. The angel ignores him for a few beats, assuming that the question was rhetorical. The hunter doesn’t stop staring, however. His eyes trace the angel’s vessel, currently hunched over on the seat, moonlight draping him like a false halo. Almost reminiscent to the day they first met.
“I just thought I’d sit here, quietly.”
Dean furrows his eyebrows at that. The angel has recently risen from the dead, brought back by his ‘father’, whoever that is. Surely, he’d treasure his second chance a bit more than this, right?
“Come on, anything? Food, movies, booze?” Dean asks, and then for good measure, adds another. “Omegas?”

Dean had tuned him out after that, focusing instead on the way his dad’s fingers dug into his shoulder, hard enough to bruise. There’d been no choice then. Not really.
But now, seventeen years later, he was facing the consequences. The heat that he had spent his life outrunning and avoiding at all costs had finally caught up to him.
It was just his luck that it had to be in Purgatory, of all places.

Screw that.
But then— out of nowhere— Cas offers to help.
