Sleep evaded Legend at the best of times, elusive like a darting fairy. Part of him fumed at not being able to rest easily, and part of him was quietly relieved.
After all, less sleep meant less dreams. And having less dreams was probably for the better. Legend’s tended to be far too realistic for his tastes.

Summary
End of the war comes as a big surprise. Not necessarily a bad surprise, and the war has “ended” before, but that was only in the sense of one side winning, not in the sense of both sides reaching an actual peace. The peace is good, but it’s not great realizing that for everyone involved—you included—somewhere along the way you stopped thinking of the war as something that would ever really stop.
Still. All for the best. And the whole mess involved in wrapping this thing up and making (some) steps to reintegrate Autobot and Decepticon society is enough to keep everyone running. Even if hostilities are technically over, every medic you know is overclocking their frames trying to keep up with their patients. There’s a nice dose of casualties from that last clash, plus plenty of misunderstandings that keep escalating into violence. You’d hoped to sink back into the background and just get on with doing your job, but somebody had to go spread the word that hey, this is Ratchet, you know, the medic who served with Optimus Prime, and that clever move means that you haven’t gotten a full night of recharge in longer than you care to remember.

So, this is how it is now. Drift has decided that Ratchet is somehow worth keeping around in his inner bubble, worth spending time with and sharing laughter with, and worth all the fond looks and gentle physical affection that Drift apparently likes to give to people he’s close to.
An insanely gorgeous speedster with a spark of gold and a brilliant smile has decided he’s worth the attention and now Ratchet just has to deal with it. Fragging A.
