jimin gets off the bus in a remote village on a december afternoon with nothing but a duffel bag and hair cut short enough that he barely recognizes himself in windows.
the inn costs more than he can afford and the mechanic hiring probably shouldn't trust him, but somehow he ends up with a key to a room above the garage and an eight-year-old asking if he likes legos.
the village is small. yoongi asks fewer questions than jimin expects. winter is cold but the work keeps his hands busy and his mind quiet.
he wasn't looking for this. a place to stay. people who might become something like family. an alpha who smells like burnt wood and looks at him like he's worth the trouble.
but sometimes the things that save you are the ones you never saw coming.

Summary
He’s been in love with Charlie since he was sixteen, and the worst part about it is everyone knows but the other boy. He didn’t even tell most of the others. They just committed the crime of having eyes. Sometimes, he sees the understanding in their faces, how they look at him when Nick is clearly doing a shit job tampering down his feelings. Somehow, it makes the sense of suffering even worse. Their expressions say that even his friends know that Charlie will never feel the same and that they can’t help but pity Nick for wishing differently.
AKA The one where Nick is desperately pining for Charlie, and Charlie is completely and utterly unaware.

He doesn’t want to grab hold of him—well, that’s very clearly a lie, but he knows better than to simply grab hold of an incredibly attractive and muscular stranger—so instead, he leans in under the pretense of setting his empty glass on the bar and gets his mouth to the man’s ear.
“I’m Charlie. Go with this if you want to,” he murmurs, as loudly as he dares over the noise of the bar without clueing the other man in. He only hopes he’s heard enough to be understood.
Then, out of nowhere, the dark-haired man is dubiously asking, “You know Nick?,” and making Charlie’s job even easier for him.
Then the blond—Nick, how fitting, how perfect, why is everything about him so fitting and perfect—smiles at Charlie and says, “Oh my god. Charlie?”
