"Keep readin'," Louis urged him.
Claudia couldn't take the anticipation. "Gimme that," she said, snatching the notebook out of Lestat's hands before he could respond. He huffed at her but didn't otherwise complain, probably too caught up in that same anticipation.
"…and also used as a form of torture," Claudia read, shooting Lestat a pointed look.

Claudia and Lestat are cursed with nightmares and an emotional link that cannot be broken. The result is an understanding they thought they'd never share and the reforging of familial bonds. Bruce has no idea what's coming to him.

As he came close, the brown-haired woman smiled politely, taking a step back. The blonde turned around, curls bouncing with the movement, and all of Louis' worst fears were confirmed.
Lestat's cheeks were carefully powdered with rouge, and his lips were oh so slightly lined with an elegant wine-red that matched Louis' suit. He smiled languidly at him, batting his eyelashes innocently.
"Ah, there you are."or; the one where Lestat crossdresses, and Louis is very into it.

Summary
Lestat knows how much it hurt him, keeping all those secrets from him. Not sharing things until he was backed into a corner. Whatever the reason he struggled to really open up to him about certain things, he knew. He knew how much Louis craved to know more about him. He knew Louis would win that auction. He might not have put much thought, if any, into whether or not Louis would come and find him, but a part of him had to have known because he didn't choose just anywhere to bury himself alive.
He chose the middle of the Black Rock desert in Nevada.

“What happened?” Lestat murmurs. “What did they do to you?”
Louis stands up at that, still holding Lestat’s hand.
The screaming outside fades. Lestat can’t even hear the knocking on the windows anymore.
No, because then Louis is closing the curtains behind them and settling into his lap, one knee on either side of his hips. Because then Lestat has one palm spread against the small of Louis’ back, Louis cupping his face with loving hands, and their foreheads touch.
Lestat forgets what he’d asked.
Quiet.
“I’ll tell you later,” Louis murmurs. “Let me just have this, for now.”

Or: after the events of 3x07, Louis and Lestat deal with the aftermath of their decapitation, a concert, the end of the world and, somehow, find their way back to each other.
